ICT assignment : Reflection

现在，要为NIE 的一个科目（ICT for meaningful learning) 做一份功课。。
老师吩咐同学们create 一个weblog，然后写上一篇blog，针对那天上课的topic 回答四道题目。。。
我想，自己原本就有一个blogspot 的部落格了。。也就不用再create另外一个了吧~~
呵呵，用自己的部落格来做功课，还是第一次。。（没第一次，哪来的第二次呢~~ ）

1. How does writing reflection help the learner’s learning?
•Writing reflection trains students' critical thinking on self and peer evaluation. It lets students have deeper understanding on the action they have done. The students can recognize the keypoints, figure out the new experiences, learn and grow through the process.

2. How different is the learning experience between writing reflections with Weblogs and that of using paper and pencil?
• Using weblog, we can edit the content of the reflection anytime, anywhere (with internet connection) easily. Weblog gives a platform to have more interative communication with peers unlike using paper and pencil. Besides, the author can add in graphics / videos or other multimedia files by using weblog to generate reflection. Hence, it can be more interesting by using weblog.

3. What are the affordances of Weblog experienced in this session?
a. Pedagogical affordance - Weblog can be used for instructional purposes in teaching. Teachers can arrange meaningful activities to students through weblog. It is also a metacognitive tool for students to evaluate and reflect on own learning. Students get recognition and appreciation and gain the value-added by peers' comments.

b Technological affordance - Weblog is very easy to be set up with the presence of templates. Teachers and students can share the learning resources (videos/audios/passages) through weblog. Students nowadays are internet-savvy, they have no problem on functioning weblog and voice out their opinions and reflections.

c. Social affordance - Weblog promotes the social interaction among students and also with teachers. It helps to develop friendship between the students while exchanging views and feelings.

4. Revisit what you wrote for the KWL points.
• Initially, I was not so sure whether there is any difference between weblog and blog. Now, I know that they are the same. After the lesson, I found out many uses of weblog in different aspects. And also, I gain more understanding of the important pointers while using weblog for educational purposes. It will be meaningful and useful by creating ICT-based lesson to engage students' interest in learning.
